well acutally a small shed find, Jennie (gf) was doing some trunk upholstery for a freind and when he came to drop it off we got to talking a bit (hes good freinds with my grandpa) and were looking at an A coupe and he said, "my son is gonna sell his" so i said find out how much and give me a call, so he called me and i headed over to llok at it, here it is, its been in the shed for 20 years he said, time to show it some light! heres the pics, i got the body and frame fenders and some other misc with it, it even came with a trunk lid! all i need to find are some quarter window and rear window mouldings for it. jeff
Were the hell does everyone find these? Dam id like one barn find. All the ones I see are on egay for a stupid high price! Actually I did see a (easy guys) barn fresh 63 split window corvette at auburn at the auction ,car corral, swap yesterday. It was pretty cool... slotted mags and thrush side pipes! If I remember right they only wanted like 49k for it Dave
At Wal-Mart the other day, there was a '65ish Vette parked in the lot, original paint chipping off, a hole in one of the fenders, cracked windshield with a '73 inspection sticker, Keystone Kl***ics and a bunch of groceries in the back. Pretty damned cool, looked like it'd been driving daily for a long time. 4 speed too. I haven't found any A coupes in barns yet, but I got my '56 Chevy and my '52 Chev wagon that way.
Dude you are killing me. I was up in MN yesterday too. Found an A coupe too, but it was not in a barn. It was outside sitting next to a 36 3 window. Yours looks a lot better shape. Good find you lucky...........
Nice find! I'm wondering about the multi colored body. Was this a restore it one panel at a time from the firewall back and they lost interest on the quarters or what?
No, no, no. Didn't you get the memo: that's the newset fad: "Rainbow A's" if I'm not mistaken. Great find, now get that beast running and on the road. RRR
I love finds like that. Especially if the person doesnt know what they got. There was an old buick hidden behind a fence comin into town near my house. I drove by that thing for a few years and always wanted to stop and ask about it. never did. the other day, i drove by and someone was puttin er on a flatbed. go figure.
How much would you have to pay a guy for that kind of paint job? That's awesome! put it on rollers and drive it!
Reminds me of the first gen t-bird convertible that was at the cheaters show, paint all faded, rust on the bumpers, holes in the top. I'd love to drive something like that around, just to annoy all the t-bird/vette guys I'm pretty sure with my luck it'd get stolen in less than a week...this ***uming I could even afford one in the first place
Good God ***us. Don't you have enough of those? Anyone with that many Model A Coupes ought to be committed to an insane asylumn.
isnt 4 enough? the fisrt one is complete original, the second and third are pos's that should make one but know can make 2 out of 2, and the 4th was just a good deal! The37kid, what is that roller you have a pic of and do you have one you want to sell?? actually the quarters have been welded on from a different car after a p/u conversion (the usuall) and must have been a paint test panel too cause ther is like 10 different colors on it! ***us
