I am looking for some cool taillight ideas for this car. Something different. Preferably not LED, but it can be something that I have to really fabricate. I was thinking either something real simple, but cl***y; or something crazy like taillights shaped like trucker girls, or an upright b***, etc. I just cant seem to decide.

Any ideas?? feel free to photochop if you can...

couple of ideas.. I have a 49. I got these bubble lenses from Gene Winfield. they are the approximate size and shape of a 39 ford lens, but not so pointy. I tunnelled them in about an inch, and there is a bit of a flair at the outside. I don't have a good picture. I'll see what I can come up with.

another cool looking alternative is to french your stock 52 lenses... maybe a bit lower than the original spot.

go to Ecklers.com and look up 58-60 'vette tail lights. I wanted to use a set on my '49 chev truck, but i can't afford $700 for tail lights. I think they would look good as they are flush mounted, and would not upset the flow of the car.
    just my $.02

I think the car looks nice like that. get a pair of these retractible license plate thingys, or make them yourself, and mount lights on them, so they pop down below the bumper when you're driving

B-31 Guide backup lights with '41 Plymouth stoplight lenses, mounted on outer ends of gravel pan. Bulb sockets require dual element conversion ...

I had the idea of just putting a couple small rectangle brakelights in the rear window. That way I could leave the rear end smooth.

I bought a pair of 49-50? DeSoto taillights that look like they'll ride the curves of the fender without a lot of fabrication... but I might want something a little more wild, or maybe even a little bit understated... and then I got to thinking crazy ... I've got this pair of 68 Charger taillights that have been staring me in the face for months. I've kind of played around the idea of mounting those somehow ... crazy, I know.

my vote goes for 52 buick either frenched in or put in at a cool angle (45 degree V shape or sideways) lenses can be had and i dont think finding or fabing a backing support would be hard..
    creepy
