Technical Dreaded Red X...

I have noticed that the photos on my recent (and maybe past) posts have been disappearing and are replaced with the dreaded red "X". I can go back, delete the old image address, insert a fresh image address, and it works...for a while.

I use Google Photos as my image host. Is this the root of my issue? Is there something different I need to do to keep the photos up on my posts?

Any ***istance or suggestions would be appreciated!

    TIA

    Image for testing purposes...

Nevermind, guys! I found the problem...

Was going to delete the post, but it may help others.

Evidently, Google changes the image address on some random frequency (maybe after each hyperlink click), so the address you copy from your album is only good for so long.

Off to ask Google "WHY?!?!" I'll let you know what they say...IF I get a response at all!!

Use our image hosting if you trust me. Cuz… I don’t delete anything.

I store all my photos right in my phone. I will occasionally offload some onto my desktop and then on to an external hard drive just for backup. I don’t care for the google photos ****. Post here using the H.A.M.B. image hosting. Works like a charm and easy as pie.

I use google photos (in general) because I have a google fi phone, and it puts them there all by itself. But as mentioned, I also copy the from my phone to my computer, then to a couple external hard drives occasionally. But I still use HAMB photo hosting.

If you're using a computer to make a post, it's pretty easy to use the "upload a file" ****on to put your photos in a thread. But it does help if you have the photos stored on your computer first, then you just select them and upload. You need to make sure they are an appropriate size, first, though...that can be a challenge if you're not somewhat computer savvy

Another thing I've noticed is if you cut and paste from another website it doesn't stay long, and you get that blue green thing. If you want to post a picture from another website first upload it to your computer, then post it on the H.A.M.B. however, you can cut and paste an image from one thread to another.

If I use my phone to make pics, I do like Jim. I download them from Google back to the home PC, then upload them here. I have downloaded them from previous phones to the PC, but my current one doesn't play well sometimes with the PC.

I copy them from the phone to the computer...because google saves them on Photos at a lower resolution. Although that lower resolution is usually perfect for posting here, so often I post photos from my phone by saving them from the google photos page.
