Hey guys - are there any radiator shops left in central NC (I'm in Greensboro) that can modify a roadster radiator or am I better off biting the bullet on a new one? I swapped a nailhead into my '27 which means I need the outlets swapped back to the "Ford" positions (upper neck either in the middle or on p***enger side, lower outlet on the driver side). Is that even doable, or would the cost eat me alive anyway?
I just Googled a few around you, one in business since 1960. Talk to the heavy truck shops, they know who does decent repairs. Moving the inlet/outlet should be no problem. I deal with Superior rad in Detroit, they do mostly trucks but also build custom rads for special interest cars. Warren
Keck's in Graham, maybe. They wouldn't re-core my '37 because of the angled fins, but it is an option.
If you find a good shop, I expect the wait time will drag down your project. If you can find someone with a new radiator in stock, the cost of altering the old one plus the wait time might make new a better option. Keep us posted.
