I found it to be much cheaper than Valvoline VR1.
    Has anyone tried this??

Different engines like different oils ,
I use Lucas race oils in 1 of my engine 50w. Also 20/50 & 40w,
Its cheaper to buy in 5gal ,50 & 60w its blue in color , also use VR1 Non synthetic in others,
When using certain weights make sure your oil filter is compatible with that weight of oil

If using it for racing I see now worries using it. For the street Lucas Hot Rod Oil was made for engines with non roller engines and blended for its use.
As a guy having racing engines I use racing oil blended for them; but never in my street engines whether performance or not.

^^^^ post above , I had gentlemen come to me asking why he was going threw so many engines , Honda Gx 25- 340 cc, only lasting about 2 months in commercial use, he was using regular oil
I told him its the oil ( non roller engines)
He switched to Race Lucas & VR1 straight weights ,
Now the engines are going to around 2 years , these are 4 stroke , Single Cylinder Gx 35 Start $ 300 up

  6. I used to use it years ago , the local speed shop use to do “ Midnight madness sales”. You could pick up a case of the stuff for the same price as normal oil .

worked good when I used it.

Castrol GTX Cl***ic racing oil is now availible for about $22 in select Walmarts. You have to find the "Cl***ic" oil as it has extra ZDDP, the standard racing oil doesn't have it. I believe 20w-50 is the only one availible in 5 qt bottles, other weights have to be singlr qt bottles at a slightly higher price per qt.
