Features tri five chevys lets see em"

Well, last night we ran to put gas in my truck and I did my weekly drive by. There was a lady walking a dog in the yard, so I stopped and asked if the '56 was for sale. She said "I think he gave it to his daughter." I asked if I could give her my name and number in case it would ever be for sale, and she said, "let me go ask him for sure." She comes out and told me, "He gave it to her, but she's just not picked it up yet".

I will still keep my eye on it, I've been burned by similar stories before. I found a '65 Malibu, similar condition to this '56, and was told "It was my brother's, he's p***ed and its all I have left of his, I won't ever part with it." 6 months later, it was a local cruise night, owned by a 17 year old kid on billet 22" wheels.

 

@Kelly Burns , many moons ago a 65 Chevelle sat at the top of the driveway, where a friend of the family lived(rented upstairs). I used to go over and tutor his son in math. Asked the dad about the car, several times, and he said he'd ask about it for me. It had been sitting there for a while. Well, one day..gone! Now I still wouldn't mind finding the one that got away.

 

I let my AWB Dart go and bought this last spring. A drag car in the 80's and 90's, now with a nasty 327, 4-speed, '57 Olds rear, '48 Chevy truck front axle chromed.

 

I'd like to hear the story behind this.

As far as more info on the Nomad all I got is the pic.
My good buddy Jay and I were about 17 years old and we both took a photography cl*** in high school because it was easy. What better a place for a couple of gear head kids to take pictures then a drag strip.
After our kids grew up, we later drag would race each other and had a Ford v/s Chevy fun rivalry going on for 20 years.
When he p***ed last year his wife brought out the photo album with all the pictures from that day for me to look at and let me borrow it to make copys. Posted some of the tri fives, found a couple more.
