I cannot tell you who, or where. When, was today.

The parts of my brain that would be able to process why and how are not responding.

    First it was like this:

    Then it was like this:

Looking at his mug, I'd say he'd go for the old Ivo machine. I guess that there are 4 Stewart-Warner pressures & 4 temps. It's interesting that they're all standard gauges that have no lighting to be seen at night. I guess when you're piloting that thing, you don't have time to look at the gauges.

    Neither.

Both would require modifications for me to fit.

My legs are too long for both, and I'm too wide for the dragster, too.

C2 was last configured for Danny, and he's a good 7-8" shorter than me.

Reasonably close when I was invited to the debut of Target 550, Marlo Treit and Les Davenports liner, even if I was allowed to get in it I would have needed some "hip grease".

I saw that one up close in 2014. It too is an interesting and incredible piece of engineering!

    Oh honey...
I went ahead and got us a 4WD.

Just imagine jamming the foot feed and losing traction at all four corners! Wahoo!
    I know you were.

Cool, I'll never have that kind of day, I doubt that I could fit in either one of them.

I have spoken with both Tommy Ivo and Don Prudhomme extensively about the Showboat. Also have some very early pictures when they were testing it at San Diego Raceway in Ramona when Tommy wasn't allowed to drive due to contractual rules with the studio. I'm jealous:D

    Hey, Gimpy;
I'll bet this day will last for quite awhile, & so will the smiles as you remember. Good on you.
No, I haven't had any day(s) like that, but I'd like to, at Garlits' museum, if I ever get there again. Since he has ~ 70+% of my favorite cars there. ~ 20% of the others don't exist anymore.
Eons ago at one of the StreetRod Nats, I got to sit in the Chrismans' severely chopped Acoupe w/40 hoods & rear-engined hemi that was done for the salt. I'm not claustrophobic, but I kept reflexively trying to push my head back thru the rollbars since my face was literally only a couple of inches from the windshield. ~160 w/2" from the w/s? Caused my mind to wander/wonder for a long long time. :D .

Funny you should ask, Yes but,,,, I was sleeping in that dream.

Definitely the 'liner. If we goin for ride make it a long one..

Ya Know, in later years one day, they were moving stuff and Tommy drove the Showboat through an alleyway.
Well there was a bump, like you don't find on a strip. Tommy took some fractured vertebra home that day.

Did your hands get sweaty?! The kids got a biplane ride for me when I turned 70, didn't relax much for the first part of the trip. Always dreamed of being "Tailspin Tommy" when I was a kid, now to drive a race car!!

As close to that as I could get was the day Danny sold the streamliner, he was kind enought to spend some time talking to me before it came up for auction. A day I will never forget, he is a true gentleman!

I sat on Bob Bondurant's exercise bicycle. That's about it for me.

My wife went in a prototype submarine in Lake Tahoe. That was her big day.

Shoot... I felt special just because the nice lady watching over the Pearson Brother's Coupe display at Detroit Autorama on that Sunday afternoon offered that I could come inside the rope.
    "Really?"
    "Sure."
Nobody else around. Very quiet. Just a couple of minutes in a very realistic dream with the Pearson Brothers Coupe.
