My Mom dated a guy who had this in his Lincoln Continental. I remember listening to it and thinking how cool the 8-track player and CB was.

As a youth if I got up on the highest hills around Rochester Mn I could pull in KAAY out of Little Rock. Beaker Street was the program I listened to

In the early nineties I had a student who's reputation was that he would deliver in the morning what you ordered the night before. I know he could slim-jim a car as fast as you could use the key,

During my college years I lived at the Tradewinds motel and one Saturday night , my 8-track got stolen out of my OT 271 horse powered horse car parked in the back parking lot! So the next Saturday night me and my buddy sat up all night and waited on them! About 3am they came back , scoping out cars, there was only one way out and we were standing there with golf clubs. We got them out of the car and called the cops! They went to jail and I got my 8 track back, but never got paid for my broken window!

More like this, with 8-track and CB hanging below...fine Corinthian leather, back seat like a sofa.

  15. Here's my version of Moriarty's picture. Pioneer Supertuner with cassette, in my OT 68 GTO. It was my high school car and still have the GTO now going on 42 years plus. The radio still works, haven't used the tape for many years, but it should work as it did previously. Played a lot of Boston on that Supertuner!

I picked up a 68 GTO from this kid in West Virginia and drove it back to Mich. I don't know what that kid did to it but it was nasty and it was a 4spd car. When I sold it I took the guy for a test drive and I scared him so bad he bought the car but I had to drive him home. He wouldn't drive it.

Had a Mustang II with a Pioneer 2500 cassette deck and it didn't have enough power for me. I put in a power booster/equaliser but the only place it would fit was under the steering column between my legs. I had to be careful where and when I was adjusting it while driving so I didn't look like a pervert.

Before the 8 track there was the 4 track. The 4 track had a slightly bigger case and the pinch roller was on the tape machine. Only the rich snobs had these.

I had two or three of these stuffed in my glove boxes during the late 60’s.

I had to lose 3 stereos before I quit buying tapes. ( different cars )
The last one went away with my Sun tach, and a Superior three spoke.
Kick in the ass was the curb side vent window was busted open for entry, while the car was left unlocked.

The worst thing about 8 track tapes was that the one song you bought the tape for was usually where the tape switched, right in the middle of the best song.

I had one in my Country squire and will be looking for another,I am going to be building a 65 Galaxie like I had in high school and no parts newer then 1978 and that is the radio I most likely would have gotten.

Here’s the Kraco in my ’32 and the ancient speakers it pumps through. Don't forget the accessory matchbook to help align the spacing of the cassette.
There’s no Boston in my lineup, mostly just Country and Western.
