It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update. The first 2 photos are from a club meeting. The rest are from the RCCRC reliability run. Some are my photos some aren’t the last 2 are from the very talented @wils0nmurphy
Great photos, so glad you are able to enjoy the car. So is there another banger powered rod in your future!? T RPU on the A chassis perhaps?
Thanks Glenn. Not any time soon. I’m having ignition trouble at the moment, so I’m working towards some reliability. Then there’s a lot of small things I’d like to address / try and when that’s all good maybe a bigger change. I’m thinking the next project for me will be a bit faster than a flathead 8 not slower….
I get it, I wasn't sure if you missed the banger at all. Not having owned a going flatty powered car I can't imagine they are inspiring (unless you tip in buckets of money) but more of a cruiser. I hope you can get that ignition trouble sorted, so you can enjoy a lovely car with confidence!
Well, it’s running. I’m yet to take it for a drive but it’s running. https://youtube.com/shorts/cbcvrs6c8ow?feature=share
I had a bit of trouble getting it to run right. I swapped out the coil and it’s heaps better. It starts instantly and idles nice. Living on a few acres my son and I drove it around our property yesterday. My wife even came over to tell me it sounds like a different car. I also painted my grille insert.
We have been pretty busy as a family lately. We’ve attended some shows, I finished off a large rust repair job for a friend, bought my son his first project car, I’ve put a fair bit of time into my chopper and I’ve also been working on the coupe. I changed crank pulleys and installed a new front seal. I’ve finished off a couple of other small jobs and have been driving it around. Hopefully I’ll get to drive it a bit more from now on.
Hey. No I’m not planning on going to Koth. We are doing our club run to the Sydney hot rod show, we as a family are planning to visit my mate on the sunny coast. Then the next priorities will be Nagambie, RCCRC and the Machine show.
Yep awesome. Would love to do Sydney, just Not going to work this year. When is the Machine show? I don't think I've seen your pickup? The coupe is looking good!
built this GMC pickup, starting with a Chevy pickup bed made into a trailer, and adding a GMC 1 ton cab and sheet metal...
That is a really nice coupe, kinda makes a fellow jealous. I bought mine already done but I do find things that need to be fixed. I like your front signal lights. They are the ones I have been looking for. You have done a great job building this hot rod.
