Our wedding day.

 

My Wife and I married 42 years, standing beside our 34 sedan my grandfather bought new.

 

Just a little bump to the top. Hot Rodding together for 47 years now.

 

My Dad's mild custom, his girlfriend at the time, on the Decatur Nebraska, Onawa Iowa Bridge in 1955. They married the following year. Dad's brother had not yet nosed and decked it but he had installed the chrome grill bar that he bought while stationed in the Army in St Louis.

Dad said the bridge was not open yet, they just drove up there to take the picture. The bridge was built over dry land, then the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers re-routed the Missouri River underneath it in an effort to straighten and tame it. It was nicknamed "the Dryland Bridge". When I was growing up in the 70's, I remember this being a toll bridge that we had to stop at on the way to Grandpa and Grandma's house.

Then we have Mom in front of the car, obviously on their honeymoon to Niagara Falls

 

When the powerglide transmission went out on Dad's 54 Delray, they got a '59 Impala. Black with red interior. Wow, I'd love have one of those. Mom holding my sister.
