NHRA hosted a "Salute to the Gassers" at Indy this weekend, thought everyone might enjoy some of the pictures that I took. Unfortunately, I can remember all of these cars, and had seen many of them race in the 60s. When the question is ask again, "What is a Gasser", this should nail it down pretty good. John
Thanks for the photos ... all were nice but I really liked the primer 55 Chevy. There were a good many of those type, primered up 55's roaming the streets of my hometown ... back in the day ...
They made a parade lap prior to the first round of eliminations yesterday. My friends 36 Ford, "Glory Days" (Hilborn), was running under it's own power. I'm not sure how many of the others were driven down the return road, as I was only there on Saturday. I did hear them start a lot of the other cars during the day on Saturday.
Thanks for the pics. That's another thing great about the HAMB. I can't get to all the shows but I can always count on someone shareing their pictures.
