Mart, your idea to make a bushing to extend the length of the transmission input shaft was what I was thinking too. Neat solution. Very impressed with the work you are doing on the transmission conversion. Much thought and engineering going into getting it to fit. And, like you say - could not be done without a lathe and milling machine. Thanks for sharing with us all.
