There were two lower 28-29 folding bases on eBay last week. and a single a few weeks before. I don't think ayone has repoped them. I'm guessing they use a 30-31 upper post. Good luck, they really make anice addition to a 28-29. post some tub photos.

Folding post were known as "opera posts"--damn hard to find--I looked for years for a set for my 29. Some of the repro places may have a set--but most I saw were kind of ****py.Only found 1 set --guy wanted $500.00 for em.

I bought my Orchard windshield about 5 years ago and paid $500 for it. But it was already chopped and had the windshield frame and gl*** with it. They are not cheap but you don't have to modify them to elan them back.

The Aussie ones are repop. Available in plain or polished. Not Sure on prices- think I paid $350-$400 Aud for the polished version.

Oh hey HAMB brothers, I have a set of original castings (the orchard style that you speak of), they are from about 1948 or earlier, I say they are from this era because of the box & newspaper they were wrapped in & the fellow I got them from had owned them since just before he went to fight in Korea, They are what the kids call NOS I suppose. They are cast from a really nice grade of white metal, they are not aluminum. They are stock height & have the hardware. The dude I got them from is a Model A Expert you could say, he gave me the lowdown on the window posts history & how he got them.
Anyway, my plan is to use them on my 1929 Roadster Pickup. I dunno if anyone out there in HAMB world has the ability to sand cast, but if they did they are more than welcome to use mine as a copy as long as they are nice to them.
As for Sacto Ford, they do NOT have them in stock, they had a supplier from the Colorado area that was making them for them, but they are what I was told as "indefinate backorder". Now that was the case as far as about 2 months ago, who knows now.
Anyway, let me know if anyone is down for this. This could be cool right?
    Love,

I'm running old bronze castings on my rpu and my dad's roadster. Both sets were difficult to find, and a little harder to chop and weld the bronze. But they're heavy and well-made. They were originally designed to fold FORWARD. You have to switch the uprights side-to-side to make them fold back. I've since replaced the big thumbscrews with wingnuts. There's an old trick for getting these to screw down tight and not move, PM me if you get this far.

Just a heads up, I've been told the newer aluminum re-pop versions flop around at speed.
