Happy to report that my plan to see action at Bonneville this year was nixed by a situation less horrific than yours. Meantime thanks for the great view.
I missed Bonneville by one week last year on my bucket trip out west. There’s no way I’d cuddle up to claustrophobia trying to hit 100mph.
Some of the coolest cars were raced in the past. As for cool cars like Claustrophobiam Todays safety rules means we will never see anything like them again. The cars are too small to fit modern cages in. I with Keith, Lucky and everyone else success this year! The Ball Point Banana, showed up for several years. Most agree it never ran, the owner just liked to hang out. All images from landracing.com, photographers unknown
Exploding toilets. Now there’s a hamb throw back. been fun watching the trips across the country headed to the salt online. Good luck guys!
I had seen photo's in the past but the video drove home just how small Claustrophobia really was. HRP
There was also an Electric Belly tank that ran backwards compared to the usual that was TIGHT inside! 1960s
I always thought it was kinda neat that when the MotorHome ran (Big Box/Gas Whatever) the starter at the starting line had to open the door and walk up to the cage to check the guy's belts.
'stopped by Thun Field Hot Rods today in time to hear Marshal fire up the '39 he's taking. my phone does not do justice to the sight and sound of this car.
Great post. Great video. That 40 is sweet. Looks like chopped but rules require bumpers, strange. As for exploding toilets, explode or overflow? HAMB always needs pictures
