The fuel pump on my 1954 Mercury 256 y block needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I am having difficulty confirming a replacement part number. Pump pictured is AC 4052. The 4070 pump works for. 239ci Fords but has Incorrect armature for 256ci. Can anyone help?[IMG]

I would think a 239 (ohv) 272,292,312 fuel pump would work. Check the fuel pumps for any of those.

The 4052 mounts upside down and has dual vacuum for the WW and the armature is different on all others I have seen. Found this pump without vacuum. However the armature is clearly different [IMG]

    Hi
Did you find another fuel pump model to fit on your Merc 256?

My 54 Mercury had the same fuel pump as my 57 T-Bird with the upper vacuum section to help the wipers. They are available through the T-Bird suppliers such as CASCO in Ohio, and Larry's T-Birds in So Cal. They are not inexpensive.
