    IMG_6510[1].JPG Hi All,
I need help identifying this hood. I found it in the middle of the desert and I saved it from eventually being shot up in target practice. Thank you in advance.

    More pictures. The hood sides measure approximately 20¾" X 27¾". DSCN0409[1].JPG DSCN0407[1].JPG DSCN0408[1].JPG DSCN0411[1].JPG DSCN0410[1].JPG

Now with these more clear shots of the handles and the latch tabs, I bet @squirrel will know exactly what it is!
    He never misses.

Because of the heavy handles and the stout latch tabs, it may be from a Jaeger or LeRoi industrial air compressor, possibly from an old tractor as well. I thought for sure Squirrel would identify it right away!

I first thought it was a Model A hood, but I think it is too big. Could it be a Model AA (truck) hood?
    Any more guesses? Thanks!

Looks a lot like a fire engine hood I repaired for the city. I forget what the make was. It was around 1930ish.

Model A has different latches but the louvers do look close. An AA would use the same hood as everything else I believe.

28/9 have a hood that’s a similar length but this isn’t giving me model A vibes in general.

    I’m going with fire engine

Those latch straps look like the hood is held down by leather straps.

No idea what it is but thanks for saving it. Amazing to think how long it's been out there, how it got there, and that it hasn't already been shot up.

  15. AA truck hood is same as Model A car, '28-'29 is same and '30-'31 is same.

I think vehicle related, since the tops narrow down.
