Not me. That car was all cage.

I think he deserved to wreck. He earned the nickname 'never lift.'

The comment that got me was the owner for the other team where he said that his negotiation caused the wreck. Only partially true. He was so far out of the groove that I was stunned that he was still in the throttle...

No offense Denise, but, I'd rather watch grass grow.

I'm not up on VW racing, so I didn't know that a pro mod bug can pull 8 second ETs.

Put Opra in a bug that is doing the same as the one mentioned then Opra would be worth watching

No but I did watch Build or Bust on Speed channel a couple of nights ago. That show is the worst made show on TV. The only thing that is worse is the commercials for the gay home security system. Cool bikes but man where do they find the retards to be the guests?

  12. Ya fellers catch the episide with the brothers from st louis? Prolly the best Pinks will ever see.

  13. The only things that piss me off about this show is the bald guy is clueless about drag racing (how did he land that gig?) and they don't use the tree.

The bald guy is standing right in front of the tree lookin like a major tard when he throws his arms down to get em started... wtf.. just use the tree!

they don't use the tree because if you line one guy up 5 car lengths ahead he won't be able to see it...I enjoyed the episode with the MN Hot Rod Hardware guys, mainly because I get to see that A sedan at all the hot rod events up here...

If someone gave you a big pile of money to do a show featuring people racing home-built drag cars, what kind of racer or rodder would you be if you spent a bunch of the money on a Hummer with police lights and six billet wheels?

You wouldn't be much of a racer. You sure wouldn't be a hot rodder. You'd be a poser, trying to impress people like you, with bad taste and no class.

"Rich Christensen, 41, doesn't race. And he doesn't drag.

"I can barely open the hood of a car. I barely know where to put the gas in the car."

His gift, apparently, is in persuasion.

"The roughest sell in the world is selling a TV show to a network, the concept."

Christensen, a native of New Hampton, has an ambition, to make it on television. He moved to New York, where he did a stint on the soap opera "Another World." He also once worked as a personal trainer in Los Angeles.

A question popped into Christensen's head.

"What show would I like to watch?" he says.

Answer that one, he figured, and it might just be what others would like to see as well.

Christensen worked on a documentary years ago following Dale Earnhardt and other NASCAR drivers around. Like everyone else, he noticed the growing trend of so-called reality TV, blockbuster successes like "Survivor," "American Idol" and "Fear Factor."

Christensen conceived "Pinks," which will combine racing and reality.

In his imagination, he envisioned two drag racers squaring off with more than bragging rights at stake. Winners would get those, but they would also get the loser's car. The title. The pink slip.

"I thought how cool would it be out on a country road and I hold their title," he says.

But, given the devotion of drag racers to their rides, would anyone accept the "Pinks" challenge?

"We put up a $50 Web site and were up to 11,000 visits in about three weeks," Christensen says.

Taping began in California and several episodes are in the can. Christensen is the show's creator, executive producer and host."

  19. I almost forgot about that gay hummer he drives. They really needa get that fucker off of there and get someone that actually knows something about cars and draggin.

  20. And see Johnny I thought of that too, but he's always standing right in front of the tree and I'm sure a lit tree is easier to see than his dumbass.

I never gave a shit about the host, I'm just watching it for the racing...his "tech advisors" aren't all that great either, but screw it...just watch the damned show...can't please everyone all the time...

  22. I remember going to Mokan Dragstrip down in Joplin MO when Les Shockley was there with the 3jet eng. diesle. Shit, when he took off, he blew the tree over & scorched the little box there behind the tree. Too bad the producers wont have baldy kickstarting a real race like that. Thinking back, I think Shockley was pushing the truck really hard to beat Garlits. Too many good races at Mokan to remember. But baldy could loose the nose & ear hair very easily that way. hehehe Carl Hagan here in KC.

Wow! Say what you will about the guy, but he created this show from nothing with no one's help, produces it and is the host. Do any of you think that is EASY?? If so, why didn't any of you DO it?!:D
Yup, the show has some issues but DANG, he did it all himself. That's pretty cool in my book!

I agree, he deserves some credit for that at least...there should be a HAMB shootout on PINKS...I'd love to see that...

Okay, I'll see to it that the annoying host with bad taste and no class gets credit for starting, selling, and producing a contrived, sensationalized, overly-dramatic TV series about drag racing that often cuts to a commercial just before the cars get to the finish line.

hahaha, but apparently you still watch it...if it weren't for him, we wouldn't be able to bitch about the show, and it's still a half assed decent show compared to the rest of the crap that's on TV *cough*American Hot Rod*cough*

  27. Yeah that's cool that he started it from nothing and works hard on it..

However out of everything he has given the show, he neglected to give it a quality host.

  28. I'm not into watching 29 minutes of drama and commercials to see less than a minute of racing.

I have to admit I watch the show, but my main complaint is that the guys hardly ever run the car as fast as they will go. They just yell at each other during the negotiating and say you lifted or you're sandbagging or my nitrous isn't hitting, so we never see what the cars are really capable of! With the exception of the brothers racing that was the best episode of "Pinks" that has ever been on. They ran their cars all out.
