Just want to take a second and introduce myself and my ride to the forum. I’m from Worcester, Ma and my name is Jay. I have been playing with hot rods and muscle cars since before I had a license to drive. I am super excited to be a part of this and look forward to ya’lls advice and hope I can lend a little along the way as well. Now for the one I am actually introducing.

My 1962 Mercury Meteor I scored several years ago. It was mostly original with a half custom paint job, and made it 15 miles home when the 221 decided it was done. Subsequently swapped in a 69 302/c4 combo to keep it old yet fun and that has lasted several more years(took some customizing). Well that 302 of unknown status is done now and its time for a full redo on the merc. Paint is faded, underneath is worn out...its time. We(as in my wife watching while she supervises) are currently stripping the car down to the bare bones for new wiring, custom paint, suspension etc etc etc. I look forward to sharing the project as it goes and getting help here along with sharing what I can of my limited knowledge with everyone here.

And yeah it might not be a desirable car to sink a boatload of money into but we got married in it...so I have to(she said so), cuz it’s never getting sold. Thanks all!!!!

    Jay

  4. Welcome from the land downunder.

That is a very rare car in this country... I'm wondering if it is similar over there.
