How was the turnout for the Sicamous event? lots of different things going on this last weekend so had to pick and choose
Some August Canadian bacon content... Let's see some pics gents, we all know you got em! Love this 55 i saw yesterday at our hot nite event in town.
I went for a run in the 52 on Sunday and went to a small show in Hearts Content. Met up with some friends there, about 30 cars there, rest were newer than 64.
Nice two-ten, how about posting it. Here: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-55-chevy-210-two-door-sedan.1218091/
A little Canadian bacon from Mission Raceway Park this weekend. Fell in love with the 55, all the right 60's speed parts! The biscayne was running a 409 with a stick. Ran super hard.
...I owned this near Erin, Ontario around late 90s and sold it...anybody here know of it...I just hope it became a Hamb friendly Hotrod or Custom...neat cars...this one was pretty complete minus the rad...still had the keys...
...Another near Smiths Falls...Jasper to be exact... Willys, Cousin Henry......it was rough but maybe someone grabbed it...rust belters many times settle for them...
I was going to go but had family commitments. Maybe next year. I’ll be passing through/staying overnight in Kamloops this week. I’d like to meet up and say hi in person...
Took this pic of my boy leaning on the fence with me watching the cars run this weekend at Mission Raceway. It hit me in that moment how many times I did the same thing with my Dad over the years and how much I'd give to do it one more time with him if he was still around. I find the older I get the more aware I am of how important something simple like a day at the drags with my son are to me. It's all about the time!
Anyone get to the huge anniversary show at Mission Raceway yesterday? Celebrating 75 years of the BC Custom Car Assoc., 65 years of the BC Hot Rod Assoc. as well as 65 years for the Langley Loafers car club land 50 years for Pacific Int'l Street Rod Assoc.! Apparently over 1,000 cars showed up....
Would have liked to have gone just to see Syndicate Scuderia cackle up and down the track. One of the best looking FED's EVER! Here's a facebook post of it running. https://fb.watch/fgDRCEhW2Y/
You got that right! I believe it won an award at some meet in California back in the day for its appearance. When I was MUCH younger I biked a lot and couldn’t believe my eyes when I discovered Jack Williams shop and seeing both his cars there as I had seen them at Mission a few times...
Not only good looking it was also a National Record holder, and I got to push it for the Cackle start up with my Mercury flathead. Over 50 years ago I was selling popcorn at the old track and got to see it race, now I had to honour to roll it down the track.
I heard one guy comment that there weren’t nearly enough street rods at the show and had a little chuckle to myself. Unique engine choice.
