my car was set up with an econoline front end. has econoline box, but needs to be rebuilt, is the econoline steering box good if its all fresh? or does it just **** in general? i noticeds most of the el monte boys are running vega boxes, is this the way to go? what kind of steering set-ups are you guys running? anyone know where to get an econoline steering box rebuilt??? thanks for any info.
Ricky , Try www.TFFNindex.com Look under ch***is work then search steering box rebuilding. Hopes this helps , the guys are very helpful. G***erman
Ricky , I screwed up , it`s www.tffnindex.net not .com . It`s on my favorites list so I don`t use the website address any more. G***erman
Try www.tffn.net then go to the index under main heading, or google it tffn index ,thats how I get to it at work. G***erman
Why arn't you going to use the Ranchero box?? Just run the tierod to the p***enger side and your done. Thats what I did on my Fairlane and it would have also worked on my comet.
this car was built in the 70's and has a new frame from the middle of the car forward, stock steering box is long gone. the car is already set up with an econoline box.
Mid 70's - late 80's GM midsize cars for sure, Malibus, Camaros, Impalas, etc Here are a couple of links to our builds: My buddy Lonnie's '55 http://www.rebelrodscarclub.com/members/lonniecobb/55straightaxle.htm And my '56 http://www.blackandbrew.com/stuff/mycars/my56/56g***er.htm
