I was trying to fit a wide 5 drum on a 37-41 round back spindle. The nut just catches just a few threads. Is a 36 drum different and maybe that’s what I have?

36 spindles are different, their drums would be too.

That was kind of my thought. I heard the spindles were different so was only reason I could think the drum would be fitting odd

  4. The pre 37 spindles are about 3/4 of an inch longer.Since the wide bolt pattern was used up to 39 it may be that the 37-39 hub will solve your problem,or you may have to use hub,and drum from the 37-39 to get the big bolt pattern rims.

  5. That's exactly the problem. You have a '36 front hub/drum. The '36 front hub/drum ***embly is one year only and won't fit the later spindles. The '37-'39 front hub/drum will fit spindles up to '48.

That’s what I was afraid of. Guess the hunt for 37-39 drums begins. Lol
