Building a traditional 32 roadster at work. What 2 carb manifold do we need to run a generator with a fan mounted on the front of the generator? Need part number and make of the manifold.

I’ve got a tall Weiand that fits the generator in front. I don’t know the part number, but maybe you could call their tech help line. Ask for the very first model flathead intake they ever made (1939).

Some of the Edmunds intakes were designed for the generator staying in the stock location.

I like the Edmunds intakes and great old speed equipment. Also as said any highrise 2x2 is cool.

Many company's made their flathead intakes with the two crabs set back enough so the generator would mount in the stock location. Any one of them you decide on will work perfectly since the choices are endless the only problem your going to have is finding one you can afford and also like. Actually that's not such a problem after all. Happy hunting that's part of the fun.

  8. The tall Eddie Meyer allows for keeping the generator at 12 O'clock. 7AF8A393-6888-433F-B473-4ABE3E008BE5_1_105_c.jpeg

I'm running an Offenhauser from Speedway sat up that way on my 8BA with early heads, works fine.

  11. So when you run the fan on the end of the generator, do you mount the generator in the further back position? The generators I have are drilled with two locating holes.

Your pulleys need to line up. If you move the gen forward or backwards it will be misaligned with the water pumps and crank.

  13. ^^^ yes, I guess what I was really asking is, what set up uses the forward position and what set up uses the rearmost position? Is using a generator mounted fan require moving the generator to the rearward position?

Generator placement depends on water pumps not fan location. The earlier 59ab pumps are shorter and use a different Generator than the later 8ba. The 8ba had a couple different water pump setups as well depending on car or truck engine.

I'm using an Edlebrock Slingshot. Performs really well on the street. This well known racer dude from CT built my motor. That may have something to do with how well it performs as well.

I did need to cut down the fan blades by 2" in order to clear the rad hoses.
