Looks great! Love the stance and wheel fit. Crazy question: Do you really have so many lightened banger flywheels kicking around that you use them as wheel supports?!?!

Simple or not, still fun to follow the transfomation.

Car looks very good with the new stance.

In my defense, it was the right height!!

I also used 2 stock banger heads as arbor plates on the press Ric gave me to swap the bearings on the transmission in this car.

You've been here. Banger parts grow on trees...What do you expect from a place that uses a Cragar OHV and a 1 of 3 1911 Breese radiator as decoration?

Thanks! It's certainly a cool car. I'm really excited with how it looks.

I haven't seen anybody run that dual updraft yet but they look really cool, kind of like a 1936 or '37 indian 4 motorcycle when they came factory with dual updrafts. I ran a single 97 on a stockish model A with a B cam and those 2 things really woke it up for cheap. Great looking A bone!

Finishing the little details currently. Got all the brake lines from the front of the car made...I only wasted about 15ft of tubing on mistakes this time. Haha

Got the rear spring where it will be drivable and not hit the axle.

@Flootiebuell got the gas lines made before he left for vacation.

We're on the home stretch. I'm gonna get the front backing plates on and start hanging shoes. Got a date with a friend, to turn the drums on his drum lathe. Gonna try and get most of it back together today and double check all the bolts tomorrow. Might start adding fluid to things by the weekend. We are very close to lift off. Should be fun!

Sorry, i got interrupted earlier and had to come back.

Forgot about painting the backing plates.

Here is a terrible picture of the Clings combo pedal and m/c mount kit.

    20220928_173931.jpg

It's pretty close to the battery box. I may go clearance this a bit.

    20220928_174002.jpg

Here is the junction. I couldn't find a T fitting with mount locally. But I think I can make one for the soft rear brake hose, that should make things more solid. As it is, the line to the front of the car is clamped close enough that its not flopping around. I used original holes in the bottom of the frame for the clamp. I do that where ever possible. So far I've drilled 3 holes in this car( in the rear wishbones for brake line clamps) and expect another 2 or 3.

    20220928_173953.jpg

I can't remember what these front brake line mounts are off of, maybe jailbar or F1 pickup?

I mounted them in the stock shock mounting holes. Sharing space with the tube shock mounts. Just took a longer bolt and drilling out the hole on the mount from 3/8 to 7/16.

I've got the front backing plate bolts in the tumbler right now, and I'll get them mounted tomorrow. And start hanging shoes and whatever else I can think of to get done done.

Seems like you're getting the hang of this stuff. You put 'em together as good as you take 'em apart. Fun to watch.

The last 10% seems to take like 50% of the time. I found a small crack in the front crossmember under the crank guide thing that sandwiches under the u bolts and the square center bolt was all buggered. so off with the radiator and dropped the axle out. I v'd out the crack and drilled the ends and got to welding. Then cleaned it up and filed the hole back square. looks like I neglected to take pictures/I can't find before pictures. The other set back has been the front and rear springs. It was to low in front and to high in the rear. I think it's finally figured out. Take a look. What do you think?

At this point I pushed it back inside and started assembling the brakes and final everything.

    What is left

    Bleed the brakes.
    Fill with coolant
    Double Check fluids/grease front end.
    Triple check all bolts.
Wire headlights(take out butt connectors/replace with factory ford)
    Install battery
    Install floors

if you'd like to see more of it check out the latest episodes of my youtube on it. I've mainly been focusing my content there. As it's much more time consuming to film and edit.

    And the second episode

Now that you have installed and driven the dual updraft. What are your thoughts on dual updraft vs. something like a single Stromburg downdraft? Pros and cons?

No chop on this one...haven't talked him into it yet. Played with bobbing the fenders. But didn't really like anything we came up with.

    Thanks bud!

Thanks! I think @Flootiebuell and I work well together...he may tell you otherwise.:D

All sneak peaks must be seen in person Dennis. :p

    Great question.

They both have their pros and cons. I have a single 97 down draft with no pump on my truck and been messing with both recently. The dual updraft is "sensitive". But performs well. I could see some guys struggling with it, if they're not really the fiddling type. The stromberg is good. It drips fuel(gravity feed) when not running and the fuel is left on. So that's not great... It performs well, but that engine in my truck could really use more fuel. The coupe feels like a hot rod, pretty good 5.5:1 compression head/b distributor/ and the duals make it perform well. And the upgrades make it almost as fast as my 7:1 winfield engine in my truck that has a cam, mallory distubutor, etc. but is strangled by a single carb. It's fast, but it really wants more fuel. I haven't turned the wick up on that one yet. Probably do a comparison from single to dual carbs on my truck this winter.

    Thanks so much!
