Picking away at it. I’m having trouble finding a fitting that will work from the old glass reservoir to the new master- but will figure something out eventually. The hard lines are next. I’m waiting on a buddy to make them up then onto the rear end.
Yeah I’ve been down there three times. They were going to have to stack a bunch of adapters to run a solid hardline- so I ended up having them make up 4”of soft-into a hard line where you will see it on the firewall. it should look- work good. What a pain in the**** though!
Cool that you found it and sealed a deal that quick! Even better that you're gonna clean it up and use what's there. That car is fantastic. So many great parts.
Two Brents with Hangin' tire, Nasty similar era A-Bones...how cool is that...it'd be epic to see ya both at the nostalgia drags...priceless...
I would have liked to have found a old master cylinder but couldn’t figure out what was in the car. Hopefully not to many new parts will have to be used but I can’t save everything.
That coupe is killer, brings back memories of my buddy's coupe we raced about 15 years ago, 8.60 @ 160 MPH
Test first and see what works and what does not work so well. That is what a I had to do with my old Model A drag coupe. It was a long proses and some changes had to be made, any way, have fun with that bad**** old girl!
I saw that coupe at the Meltdown drags. I aske the then owner if he planned to restore it back to it's original race condition or just get it running. His reply was it was to far gone to do either. Im sure i was shaking my head as i walked away. It realy is great to see this coupe will live again.
He actually called me when I first got the car and said he would like to buy it back! Got the axles out today.. one came up easily- the other I ended up having to rent a slide hammer. The bearings and seals will get replaced. I haven’t decided if I’m going to do it or just drop it off and be done with it.
It rolls, stops and steers now. The rear end is rebuilt, the axle bearings were a pain in the****! The rear brakes seem like they should work good. I didn’t want to put new shocks on but the old ones were blown out. The blower got completely rebuilt. The injection just needed new lines, I haven’t heard anything else on the motor yet. I want to mount the radiator and grill shell next. Has anyone came up with a way to mount them without the struts?
What a great car and thanks for sharing such a compassionate to the car build. Got to say that is the nicest garage floor I have seen!
