...This was sold at the swap I understand, was that by chance anyone here? It apparently has a vintage past. Wouldn't that light a wee fire under your ass!!

I see Hamber @Joebrownvw doing some appreciating...

I also see you were mentioning pulling a camper or perhaps a motorhome with a hitch to Manitoba...you could change the plans of course...Helluva tour that's for sure...heck 240 miles is even in the Jalopy...

The comfort of a more modern classic makes a difference...

...The top image is the late 40s early 50s Tudor dead center facing forward in this lower image that I respectfully made into an inspiration eliminating some reflective noise and with a slight diameter change to the shoes to bring it within the guidelines...other than that is was stunningly all aboard...

Curious if anyone would know what that thing is where the generator should be?

Stogy thanks for all the great pix! Where in Ontario is Rockton? My atlas doesn't show it. Looks like a great time.

@Ziggster, thanks for sharing what caught your eye. I sure didn't see everything...I wished I had of got up on those bleachers for an overhead view...

@MMM1693, Rockton, Ontario is 20 minutes south of Cambridge Ontario on Hwy 8. It's a blinker town...by that I mean you have to zoooom in on the map for it to show up...Its in the Fairgrounds just a minute or so on a small crescent style road called Old Hwy 8. There is a link under the written instructions...I like Google Maps...I use it with my phone...the nice lady robot talks me there...the great thing about Google Maps is if you take a wrong turn or alter the route Google will recalculate and redirect...

    Shared route
From Niagara Falls to Rockton via Queen Elizabeth Way.
    1 hr 7 min (102 km)
1 hr 7 min in current traffic
    1. Head north on Stanley Ave/Regional Rd 102 toward Spring St
    2. Turn left onto ON-420 W
    3. Use the left lane to take the QEW exit toward Toronto
    4. Keep left to continue on Queen Elizabeth Way
    5. Take exit 100 toward Brantford/Hamilton
    6. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Hamilton/Ontario 403/Brantford
    7. Take exit 74 for ON-6 N toward Guelph
    8. Continue onto Hwy 6 N/ON-6 N
    9. Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto ON-5 (signs for Paris)
    10. Slight right toward Hwy 8 W
    11. Merge onto Hwy 8 W
    12. Turn right onto Old Hwy 8/Rockton Rd
    13. Arrive at location: Rockton

    Alternator /fan combo...perhaps

It is an odd looking unit...looks vintage...was there a visible generator/alternator elsewhere in the loop?

    Update
...Uhh yes right alongside it Stogy......:D

Any of you Flathead Gurus have any idea?

We'd love to see you fellas...Did we meet when @Baumi was down a few years ago...He had a few friends at Ole Lake Hambly......love that name...

It's around a 3.5 to 4 hour drive to Rockton from where he was staying...worth it though and quite scenic...they have camping and Hotels are aplenty no more than 20 minutes away in Cambridge. I went for a drive there and one thing I noted was the road I drove on had more roundabouts than I drove in the last 4 years in 5- 10 minutes...but hey it was funner in the Hotrod...:D

    @Ziggster posed a good question...

What is the Unit in the place of the generator with the fan attached?

    A air-cooled bearing unit?

The Generator is just to the right of it...

    NO its not a Dodge...:p

@Jeff Norwell this is the Roasdster from Montreal I believe...Is he on the Hamb?

  21. It was a good show. I was there on sat, but sold my 57 chev, and 27 Essex in the couple of weeks before the show, so I was there in a late model pickup.

As I sat near the Stage at the 50/50 Draws and Prize giveaways...I was chowing down my food trying to beat the bees hovering all over it...I won they got none...:)

There was then as Jeff mentioned a Celebration of Life of a very well known Member of the Lead Kings the late Mel Watson...He owned the Flamed 57 Buick Custom I placed in this Inspiration and Tribute along with of course the Friend and Members Custom with Mels things and the plaque found its way there too...At the time I was taking pics I hadn't made the connection to Mel with the Hat and Shoes that I did happen to capture...

I share this with those that knew this Man who left us to soon...may he rest in peace...

It was a moving moment that I was happy to be there with the others to remember and honour him...

    Regards,
    Stogy

Thanks for the Dot connecting Born, it truly was a stunning attendee indeed and a Hambers to boot...pretty reasonably priced too considering its history...
