Saw several 32 Fords at a North Cal show that had stainless bar in center of grill from top to crank hole. Are these available from a vendor or an old accessory item? MantuaJohn
Don’t know what happened to this one… https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/32-grille-center-bar.1177214/
There was a guy on the HAMB that was making a center bar out of SS tubing with a flared top piece that mimicked the appearance of the Pines Winterfront. I believe he p***ed, as I saw a listing on ebay from his son that was cleaning out the garage. Here's the thread: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/32-grille-center-bar.1177214/
Here’s the way I did it . I used the s/s hood hinge for a 32 Ford . I attached 10/32 s/s machine screws to the back side and made small U shaped brackets that fit over existing grill bars, bolted it on with locking nuts . If you’re talented with a tig welder (I’m not) you could also weld the bar to the s/s 32 surround , file and finish .. one note some 32 grill inserts have a slight bow towards the top , not all , and aftermarket I don’t believe there is a bow to them . If yours has the bow the bar can be bowed to match by carefully , gently running through an English wheel . Hope this helps .....
