Lots of ideas and craftiness there. If you use it, will you reface other gauges to go with it? That would look killer.
I just checked out the pics. That's way too billit man. But here's my zip figure shipping. 64133 Its different, sometimes different is good friend. Sometimes its not, but I'm thinkin' you're closer to the first sometimes than the second. Oh by the way never ever ask permission. Its far better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.
I had done all the Mercs guages the same way --still have them around somwhere. I replaced the actual guage with 12 volt units in the Merc housings.
After all the nice comments about it , I will use it for sure. As far as duplicating it , I can't remember how I judged the spacing to make things read correctly , I did this about 8-9 years ago. Only thing I can remember about it was realizing that being driven by a magnet the needle had to have different spacing between numbers based on how far it had moved because of the weight & resistance to movement at different points in its travel . I'm sure there is a formula or something to work it out , but I know I didn't have any info like that.
My next project is to get an oxygen cylinder to go with the rest of a torch set I have & then teach myself to weld.
