Technical I keep burning up GM Headlight Switches

I agree- got it all back together today with appropriate fuses where they should be.
I ran my new Echlin switch for about 30 -60 seconds and nothing smoked or got hot.
I pulled the light right out of the speedo and nothing looks amiss.
NOS switch should be here this week so I will swap that in when it shows up.
