Projects body filler over epoxy primer or bare metal?

    new at this so what I did with what info I could get is fist put PPG DP90LF over bare metal. Then did the fill with evercoat rage. Now putting on HoK SP1600 filler and so far so good. Been fun so far.

    I post this video because it is, by far, the most comprehensive, informative tutorial for a complete paint job I have seen yet.


    As pertaining to the question of filler before or after primer, Jon Kosmoski here would do both. Filler directly over metal, then some filler as necessary over primer. Both are fine.

    Many of us hobbyists tackle the metal, bondo and paint prep tasks dealing with a section at a time over an undetermined period of time. That is the main advantage of applying the bondo over epoxy. Unprotected metal begins to flash rust from the get-go . Might as well nip it in the bud with a coating of epoxy for peace of mind.
