Thanks everyone for following the journey. I am glad you enjoyed it, I sure did. It made its first road trip to the Early Ford V8 Club summer picnic. 65 miles round trip with no issues.
Met some guys from the Hamb that followed the build. That was cool!
20220731_150849.jpg 20220731_150929.jpg I lied. My puke tank beer can had a few rust pin holes. Coolant was running down the fender when I got there. Had to be something.

Congrats on the first road trip!

Is that a Standard or Deluxe windshield frame?

Just saw your post and the flathead saga. Had similar problems but like you found Rich Bickel and as it turned out he had a rebuilt 42 flathead sitting on a run stand. The man is a master, a flathead legend! Put the engine in my 30 and it runs like a clock. Never overheats regardless of temps outside and maintains 40 lbs oil pressure at idle when hot. Ran the car at the TROG event this past October and it held it's own against more aggressively built cars. Good luck on your build love your posts.

Always like to hear Rich's name brought up when talking flatheads. We had some differences of opinions on the build but it all came together in the end. No heating issues with this 90+ weather here in Wisconsin. Oil pressure runs 45 lbs hot at idle and 55 driving. I couldn't be happier.

Congrats. Thats 1 sweet ride. Get rid of the rusty puke can. Let the coolant find its own level and just run the overflow hose down low. Awesome build....

Already gone. An old drag racing habit was hard to break.

I have to already pull my leg up to reach the clutch pedal. I took some final pictures of it on one knee and couldn't get up. Yeah cancer sucks but I did get to pick up my dad who is 90 and drive him to our favorite 50's car hop for lunch. My dad couldn't stop talking about the sound of the flathead. He raced V60's back in the day when I was raised on vendor food at the track. Some things never change. I love you Dad!!!!!!
