I found an ad online for a champagne color '40 Ford Pickup that is supposed to be for sale in Hiawatha IA. It came up on a general online search for '40 pickups for sale, and I wonder if anyone knows the truck and the owner.

I attempted to post a photo from the listing but was unsuccessful. I didn't see a way to contact the seller on the website. Seemed like a sketchy listing mostly because of a price that seemed quite low.

*Update* I did find a way to contact the seller and sent a message, but would still appreciate any info anyone might have about the pickup.

Please send a PM if you know anything about it or the owner.

I just did a quick search and found that pickup on a sketchy website. I’m sure you already know this, but do not send any money until you put your eyes on it in person.

Thanks for the warning and very good advice. I agree the website is sketchy and I certainly wouldn't buy a car or truck sight unseen. I guess that's the cynic in me.

This one ? $10,600 Pretty sure it would be gone at that price. I'm sure it's a scam. 1940-ford-pickup-2-door-all-steel-americanlisted_47117173.jpg

I agree in full, but you hear the stories about the '57 Chevy left in the garage by a son who was killed and it turns out to be a '57 Vette. Hey, a guy's gotta dream.

when in doubt, don't - if price is too low there is something wrong - others are out there

I hear ya Lynn. No harm in trying. Good thing you’re in tune to red flags though.

If it's too good to be true, it isn't.
