I'm getting old. Yesterday I read a post with a link referring to a company that sells powder paint by the pound at a reasonable price but I forgot to write the link down. HELP I need this for my 32 Ford sedan project.
Have you thought about truck bed liner paint, finished with glossy? The glossy cancels out the dust collection feature of truck bed liner...
We've purchased all of our powder coat materials from Prismatic I don't know if they are the cheapest or best (how often is that used in a sentence??) but they have a huge selection. To be honest...we don't do anything bigger than will go in a large "home" oven. https://www.prismaticpowders.com/?m...&utm_term=prismatic powders&utm_content=Brand
If you're not married to powder, I used PPG Pithane with hardener on my avatar. It has a finish that is between flat and satin and is indestructible and covers a lot of imperfections.
Gary, do you have a local powder coat facility that has a oven big enough for a frame? You do realize that this is not a material that sprays like paint, it is a power that is dusted onto the metal and is grounded then coated with extremes heat in a oven. HRP
Hot Rod Primer: I've been using powder coating since the early 90's. I am fortunate to have a powder coater about 125 miles away that can do my deuce frames. For this job on the chassis parts for my highboy sedan I am trying a local coater with a slightly smaller oven.
It is the same name, but it says semi gloss on mine. The dealer told me this stuff was used on bridges and iron works out in the weather. It's thick and requires some higher pressure at the gun.
Pithane is holding well, I think. It looks like it's been on the frame since 2014. It resists fluids and especially resists chipping. On my '41 truck frame, I had it blasted and powder coated. I think it may be even tougher. It's a local guy that does a lot of industrial pieces.
