Hi everyone, I'm in the process of converting my '35 Ford coupe into juice brakes. I've just removed the clutch/brake ***embly and I need to rebuild the set. What I cannot find in my search for parts are the two (2) pins that run through the shaft. If anyone know where I might find a set (X2) please let me know. Thanks

Find yourself a 1939 pedal ***embly, it's the easy way for doing the change over.

  3. Here is your best solution. Any other way you go to install Hyd. pedals is 10 times the work. Just step up and order a new set. End of problem.

A HAMBer broke one of the new Bob Drake pedal sets. It had cast iron pieces in it. Find a nice original set, as the asking prices are usually less than Drake's anyway. It will probably need a new set of bushings, but that's par for the course.

Then you will need to open up the hole in the frame where they p*** through a little, but that's just some quality time with a die grinder. Search around and you can probably even find a template for the modification.

The EarlyV8 store sold an adapter to use the ‘39-up MC. Least I think it was them.

  6. Those are Cast Iron? I did not know that and also, I would not buy a set of them if they are.

I don't think Drake can be trusted about the reproduction items he sells that he says are forged.
A buddy of mine recently bought a pair of his new `32 V8 engine mounts that are supposed to be forged.... They sure look cast to me. And everybody who has seen them agrees they look cast. Forging dies are real expensive to make, and job shops with forging presses are few and far between. That's why it's unlikely any new parts are really forged.
The last real forged item I had was an axle from ch***is engineering, I hung it up in a door way by a wire and tapped it with a hammer and it rung like a bell, that's how a real forged part should sound.

I have Bob Drake paddles in my 36 Ford and it will not release the clutch. Has anybody bumped into this?

  9. The Ch***is Engineering forged axles were made by John Deere. They were truly forged. Forging is an expensive process for a low production item, but John Deere forges axles every day for their tractors, and CE worked out a deal with John Deere to make their forged axles.
