Technical HEXAGON TOOL AIR CLEANER?

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Haven Hills Auto Club, Sep 29, 2021.

  1. I have one of these "repop" air cleaners. It fits terrible and it has been over polished, not shown. My letters are almost blended smooth. The pic was taken from "aspark1". I'm looking for another in similar condition to the one pictured, which could be an original? Does any one know who re-popped these air cleaners? I would be fine just getting a fresh casting. Or, I would step up for an original if it was in better shape than the one I currently have. Any info regarding history, production, or even posting your setup for reference is welcome. Thanks!

  2. P.S. I have both the early and late style Hexagon intake manifolds and the Hotton & Sullivan heads to match. Both the heads and the early intakes were commissioned by Don Sullivan of Ford Motor Company. I just couldn't find any info on the original origins of the air cleaners. I had heard Don and Andy ran a speed shop for a couple years on Michigan Ave in Detroit in the late 40's, but never found any info on what they sold specifically. Again, any info about the originals or the re-pops is welcome.

I was wondering if you ever found another air cleaner . I’m in search of a air cleaner as well.
