oh It's a 27 Dodge the 337 Flathead will go in it w/ the Kelsey Hayes wheels. I'll keep it all doced as I build
Looks like a real solid body and very little wood that I can see. Not like a Ford or Chevy of that era, which would be mostly wood.
That's the Lincoln flat head, isn't it? There is one in a wreking yard near where I live, I thought about pulling it, but I was under the impression that there was not to many speed parts made for them, is this true?
Oh Wow! Your the third guy today that bought that off e-bay! Just fun'en with you...Somehow I envision Bonnie & Clyde when I look at that car, cool project! Have Fun! Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy
very cool amigo, llooked at that too.You know l found a frame today that really looks just like that one. What l found consists of frame(13"long,beams 3" apart)approx. with some remnants of KH wheels, full front suspension and rear end.Do the dimensions sound like your frame? l`m thinking of trying to get it..
not sure what your plans are, but I always like to see cars built on an old ch***is like that retaining the parralllel leaves in the front. too many people put the ford style front suspension on 'em. something about the arc of the front frame horns and the spring going back that I like....
Hmm, weld-up the rear doors, remove the c-pillar, make a big window or panel truck. Call it Nomadski...
The HAMB did not tell me RECARDO did. I would like to do something more along the narrow path and be a little creative.
I think you got ripped off big time, and I'll give you $10 to take it off your hands. Just kidding, I wish I could find cool deals like that!
Do you have the front fenders and radiator shell? I think I'd leave the body unchopped and unchanneled. That body looks great...mostly surface rust. Build it as a "hot rod 20's style gangsta sled". Get a zoot suit and your babe a charleston style dress and your styling big time bro. A built in bar in the back and I'm seeing major party "hot rod 20's style gangsta sled" This will be a babe magnet fo sho... oh, you'll need an old guy with white hair to drive ya'll around.
I want to keep the frame w/ parallel suspension, where can I get a drop axle that will allow and give me knuckle draggin status?
You wanna get ****** knuckles? Flip that frame upside down...do a search on here for "underslung". Just make sure that your wheels are tall enough (without tires!!!) to maintain the scrub line. Don't risk you and others safety just to be low! ****, I'm starting to sound like my dad... Mike
This car was at the Pe*** Jean Mountain Swap Meet, at the Museum of Automobiles on Pe*** Jean Mountain (duh) near Morrilton Arkansas last June. The car belongs to, and was restored by, a couple in Missouri. You should have seen the "before" pics. A real basket case, missing lots of sheet metal. The owner formed body panels with a wooden mallet and a shot bag, and the body work was flawless. He did the build in less than 9 months. I think the car came out of Oklahoma, and the heads and intake, IIRC, came with it. The air cleaners were made for the car during the restoration. There is a guy in Bella Vista, Arkansas who collects flathead intakes. I know him from the Early Ford V-8 club, and when I see him next, I'll ask him what he has that he'd like to part with.
Hmm, OK, narrow path... It was just a playful suggestion, you don't have to get all mad about it. Full restores are cool. Not everything has to be customized or jethro bodine rat.
