Been watching for hours and haven't seen Squirrel. I guess I missed todays third pass maybe. I did see Tony run so he got the truck back together.
I talked to him, he's doing OK. I made a third pass 10.28. Got the new switch in. Fender bracket broke off. Fixed it
I'm guessing @squirrel will lose 1/10" a second without proper paint/clear on those fender bolts! Good luck have fun
Lots of carnage today, oiled down track and breakage. Day 3 starts to take a toll on everything. Nice run Jim, saw your 3rd, it was clean and looked good, Good luck on the drive and day 4.
The Byron track and track prep are not as good as Gateway and Indy. Not nearly enough traction anywhere on the track for the high h.p. racers, especially first 300 feet.
Sorry I missed you Jim. I saw your best run. By the time I got over to the pits you were pulling away. Good luck the rest of the week.
Made it to Cordova. The odometer stuck at 29999.9 and won't turn. I need to take it out and take it apart tonight.
It's no trouble to spot Squirrel. In a fast rewind through the coverage, that red Chevy II pops right out. Saw all three runs today in just a few minutes.
My wife said that the Willys in my class is out, leaving me currently in third place. Just two more days...hope I make it
I live about 2 Hr. from Madison IL and might be able to make it there Friday. What time do spectator gates open and races start? Do spectators get access to the pits? Best wishes to all who are running! **UPDATED** I found the schedule. Lynn
twenty bucks, racing starts at 10 friday, I don't know when gates open, probably 8ish? Spectators can go to the pits and talk with the racers. hope to see you there. If you do, stop by the car and say hi. Even if I'm busy, I don't mind
Looks to be a quick, easy day for Jim today, absolutely nothing wrong with that. Maybe he'll do some sight-seeing !
Alex Taylor has had some struggles with her 55 Chevy. She put up a video chronicling the first 2 days
10:46 Pacific time, another oil slick cleanup on the track. The track crew has been working on it for a while.
I'm watchiing it on my TV through the "hopper" I Might have to watch later on the computer and skip the oil downs.
I watch it on YouTube. If need be, I use a low quality setting to make sure there's no buffering. Also when watching the live feed I can slide the timeline back and watch it behind schedule. Or see replays.
From the looks of things there may be a lot of tow rigs and trailers headed from Madison to Cordova right now. That and a couple of cars may make it to Madison barely in time to run tomorrow by the repairs they were mentioning.
@Hemi Joel I love watching your content .... You still got too many carburetors . I never did see why @racer-x not here this year, life happens & I missed it. That Damn Jim (@squirrel ) I think he*****ers his bread on both sides ... He just slides right in. I never did hear what happened to "almost funny" Plan II he just keeps rolling along. Everyday I search for Tom Bailey content, then I search for Alex Taylor content ... Dennis Taylor is a incredible fabricator/Dad .... He knows how to grow those kids well. I then search for H.A.M.B. members to see how they are doing. ..... Race week is a lot of fun.
I sold almost funny earlier this year. I just could not get my head back into it to finish the car We are at the last checkpoint of the week at motorheads in Springfield. Getting dinner and hanging out for a while. Last stop is usually a good party. The air this morning was really great. I backed off just before the lights, and ran 10.06 at 125. I think I played that one well for a change.
You almost blew that one Glad you got it I see it as you back pedaled & saved your***** on that one .... I wonder if anyone else in your class can Beat that #?
