Man , talk about " adversity " with the truck...congratulations on the hard work paying off . Looking forward to updates on the OP situation.
Dan and I are talking about getting his 29 coupe set up to do drag week next year, and I ride along with him. Wonder if it'll happen?
Congrats to @mcmopar on the hard-earned win. Great to hear that! I did manage to snap a couple of pics of him along the way at Byron and Cordova - I'm told that one of the secrets to a good run is properly rotating the tires... At Byron:
Better mount a steering wheel on the passenger side for Jim, without it he'll be like a squirrel without a nut!
Thanks for all of the support on this. That was the second time it was out, the first being at the Indiana state line of the welcoming center. My 9 day old hydraulic throw out bearing blew a seal and gave me no clutch. Then when trying to get it off the road everything else went bad. When I raced in Indy, I couldn't shift from 1 to 2, so I started out in second. I did finish, but it*****ed not running the last day. I really wanted a 11 sec average for the week but ended with a 12.022 and 1st place. I didnt see any of these post as I was busy working on the truck. Tony
we made it home..... fun designing the next Drag Week on the long drive west. Plan II is the result of the discussion during our drive home in 2013 with my 55.
I think I ask him if he was your truck monkey, my mistake. But it looked like he was doing a good job.
No, we were talking about what to do to Dan's 29 A coupe, to run it on Drag Week in Hot Rod class next year. It was a fun discussion.
yes it is. I think it's one of the last cars that Darrell Zipp built. Very nice inside/underneath, also. Very clean original body
Is that the car that he wanted the magnesium wheels for, if he is interested tell him to call me. That would be a cool car for hotrod class.
Saw it in the staging lanes at Cordova. No one around at the time and never got a photo on the track. Cool car.
Call me bananas ehh?, tell me I’m not qualified will they?, wait till they see the jets I put in this thing.
