The 2022 edition of the Old North State Invitational is over, well I say over...as I write this some of the folks are getting ready to tear up a local asphalt track near Winston Salem. This 'track day' is a special-event organized by Chris May and his helpers for the diehards who stay the whole week-end. I'm sure pictures will be posted later.

I went on the Friday Kick Off Cruise to the historic NASCAR track in North Wilkesboro and to the show at Winston Salem on Saturday. Both events were extremely well attended, with many new cars showing up this year...one group from Oklahoma even stopped by on their way to TROG. One of these years I hope to get to the afterparty, but it's a two hour drive back home and I'm basically too cheap to spring for a motel.

My roadster has been apart for a year as I swapped the 289 for a 347 and this event was the first time the car has been any distance...it did fine, got 12.5 mpg. Not as good as the 289, but decent considering the modifications and the fact that it was running extremely rich. With a bit of carb fiddling I hope to get it up to 15 mpg. (We'll see)

I didn't shoot many pictures on Friday at the Speedway, midday lighting was a bummer, but I did manage to get a few of things that caught my eye on Saturday...
