This coming weekend ! Really looking foward to driving up and spending time with my dad , brothers and sisters. Last year we parked up on the hill ,corner of "Canadian Country". Hope the weather is nice .Come on by and say hi. MIKE
I attended this event regularly since it began in 1994 and highly recommend it. (I don't get out of FL much now that I'm in my 80s). Here are some tips for those considering going. From NY state, take the open ferry from Essex, NY, across Lake Champlain to Charlotte, VT. If this appeals to you, get there via the Northway from Albany area or via route 12/28 from the Utica area. Stay with 28 when 12 and 28 split. The route 12/28 way is scenic once inside the Adirondack Park but you won't be able to make very good time. But it's worth going that way. If you go this way, at Blue Mountain Lake take rte 30 north towards Tupper Lake. Then follow signs to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, then use a map to get to Essex. Best check the whole thing on a map. On Sat, drive up thru Smugglers Notch, then down into Stowe. There are a few good restaurants after you go thru the "notch". Then on to Montpelier. There is a very good restaurant in the old freight station. But it is popular. I don't remember the name but if you can find the name, get a reservation. Then it's easy to jump on the Interstate back to Burlington. Banked highways are fun for those not having them at home. If you have kids, go to the Teddy Bear Factory and the Ben & Jerry's ice cream plant. I haven't been in a couple of years but the are surely still there. Have fun everybody. I have lots of good memories.

With the passing of my dad last April we all still went and will continue. Was it bigger back then ? Yes . More Venders ? Yes . I know its Simple economics that will.bring about its demise ( like any business). It's a fun show with lots of great people. Funny bastards and Good shits...You know-em ! The last few years have been shitty for all. Cruising with Wings left , epidemic shut down Canadian Country . Womans world has gotten smaller an smaller .....But,, I think, It's going to come back ! People like us need it ! My family Needs it ! Ill put the soapbox back under the bench. MP
