After posting back in 2021 the story about my late father’s pre/post war, 1936 Ford Cabriolet https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...et-custom-before-after-circa-1940-46.1231644/ I decided that I needed something a little more nostalgic in my own life and began the search for a similarly chopped ‘36 Cab. It took a little over a year to find the right candidate but it now resides in my garage: It’s all Henry steel with a 2.5 inch chop with a functioning convertible top, SBC w/AT, Mustang II IFS, Ford 9” rear and Vintage AC. The only change I’ve made thus far is to paint the smoothie wheels burgundy to match the interior. Future changes will include de-billeting the engine to try to return it to a more ‘50’s Hot Rod vibe and perhaps 1941 Ford bumpers as my dad had on his post war. I haven’t owned an early Ford V8 since I sold my ‘48 convertible some 45 years ago https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/where-did-you-go-greased-lightning.1230982/and I’m really looking forward to enjoying this one for the long haul!
That's a nice car. Tough to beat a '36 Ford. '41 Ford bumpers are a huge improvement, I run them on mine as well. They're just clean and simple. Congrats on a great car! ironandsteele.com
No offense @Craig59 but I wouldn’t go mentioning M2 IFS around here if I were you. The moderators frown upon that sort of thing.
It's amazing how a 2 1/2" chop enhances the lines of your '36. Beautiful cabriolet and the right color.
