Gonna be a sharp looking truck...love the primered inspiration and now it's got color!!...HNY to you and our Hamb friends your way....
How's Ole Bluey @louisb...wasn't sure which Thread to bring up...I'm thinking this would help shuttling things from the Roadster back and forth but maybe your arms into both at the same time...
Hey Stogy, Andy has been really busy trying to get a few projects out the door in time for the show season. So the truck has taken a back seat until those are done. Andy keeps apologizing for the delay and I keep telling him its fine. I am just happy he is building the truck. I am still doing the paint prep on the roadster. It is taking longer since this is my first paint job and I am being picky so I am having to redo a lot of stuff as I learn. But I have several panels ready for final color so I am making progress. I just have to wait for a good warm day that I am actually off of work since I am painting in the garage. Thanks for checking in. --louis
Andy is back on the truck again and has made a good bit of progress in the past week. Created a new cover for the trans and break pedal, made progress on the exhaust and wrapped up the brake lines. Getting the exhaust to clear the steering box was a lot of work and we went through several different manifolds before settling on a set of ram horn truck manifolds. The box was also moved out half an inch to help everything fit. Also, here is a pick of what Andy was busy with before hand. I asked him if the owner wanted to trade. He plans to wrap up the exhaust this week so hopefully more pics soon. Thanks, --louis
Andy has been really cranking on it the past few days. Drive shaft has been cut and fitted. Exhaust finished and cooler lines for the late model Hydromatic run. Current focus is on the gas tank relocation under the bed. It is amazing how quickly a professional can work. It would take me weeks just to get this done. --louis
It is starting to look like a truck. I had picked up a used chrome grill but it turned out to the wrong year so we decided to paint the stocker white after Andy hammered on it a bit. He is working on installing the glass now and getting the bed wood ready. You can get a sneak peak at one of his other projects, which I have been lusting after for months, in the background. One day I will have a 34 3 window which is my dream hot rod. --louis
Couple more quick pics to wrap up the week. Front bumper installed and fuel lines run to the new tank. Almost ready to fire up the engine. --louis
Wrapping up a few details like gauges, radiator hoses, and wiring. Should be ready to fire soon. Once it is back together and running it will be heading to Jerry Laboranti for interior and then have Hotrod Jen lay some stripes on her. Plan is to have it running for TROG and I already have my reservations made. Thanks, --louis
That is what I thought but it looks like it is from a pre50 truck. I guess they changed the grill around that time.
Wow! Talk about a place full of inspiration...Truck looks awesome Louis and you have an all star lineup of those with the skills of the Trades to get things right...
Quick video of the engine running. She has a nice sound for a daily. https://youtube.com/shorts/inLaTCX_niQ?feature=share
Still missing half the sheet metal but that didn't stop Andy from taking ol' blue on her first test drive. Everything looks to be working. --louis
She finally looks like a truck. A few more lose ends to tie up before TROG, the big one is getting a title, insurance and tags. Still need to install lights and the sun visor then Hot Rod Jen is going to lay some stripes on ol Blue. Thanks, --louis
