Remember which way the lug nuts turn (especially if you upgrade the rear end). Plus you lose the parking brake (if you don't know it). Blasphemously I chose to channel my MoPar 4" over the frame and added (hidden, more or less) power front disc brakes, emergency brakes, power steering, tilt wheel and more. Cost me $250.
Hey @Tricky53 That is a great ride, its been interesting to read the various opinions about chop or no chop. For me, I like them both ways. For your particular car, I would enjoy driving it the way it is for now, but that being said, its your car and your vision and don't ever let anyone, influence you as to how it should be done. Indeed, do PM @falconvan , he is very knowledgeable and wont steer you wrong, no matter what the path is, that you will choose for this car. So here is some artistic images, to encourage you! The MOPAR , sign is one in my collection. Thanks from Dennis.
Hey there! Glad there are some lurkers I can tell you there is a lot of Patagonia and a lot of sprinter vans here in Bend! That is a pretty cheap price, I love it. Car sounds like it was a good, fun cruiser! I'm going to drive it as is for now and just do small stuff. The Chop will happen but at least a year or more out. I will definately use those pictures for encouragement whenever the need arises. Thank you!
I put 2" lower coils up front, 3" lowered HD springs in back with a 3" block. The p.o. kinda ground the block down so it's really about 2 1/2". There are now air shocks in the back for when the trunk gets loaded for shows. I'm really wanting to go around 2" lower in the back but it's ok for now. It rides really nice! It's going to get chopped. It's how I envisioned it the moment I saw it. That's at least a year away so I'll enjoy it as is until then.
Good to see another Plymouth build. My shop I didn't go as extreme but I think it looks killer. I had to put mine on the back burner do to finances but they are definitely worthy of a build.
That's a nice car! It's definately a car you don't see when you go to a car show. They also seem to draw a crowd. 3 cars show I've taken I to recently and people just seem to love it!
Just lurking and planning my '50. New Mexico car originally Maroon but the desert sun burned it almost totally away. Mopar primer mostly showing. So far stock plus rear 235 /15s and 1" blocks. Runs fine. Going to get a running '55 291" DeSoto Hemi next week that might go in here. No chop planned unless I think another Ramchargers clone needs to be on the streets.
Here’s my 52 Plymouth 218 bored .040 /aluminum edgy head/Fenton split exhaust manifolds/offenhauser aluminum dual carb intake/Detroit Eaton front coil springs/fatman dropped front spindles/Detroit Eaton rear leaf springs/Fulton aluminum sun visor and a lot more. Keep us posted want to see how it turns out
Thanks for the compliment Yours will and you won’t be parking next to one at any shows People love something different
