I have a 1948 Ford Coupe that I am putting a 1951 Ford Flathead with T5 five speed transmission in, I have clearance issues with the oil pan because it hits the steering gear. What oil pan can I use on this 51 Ford Flatheard motor to fit 1948 Ford Coupe.

    Original steering?
Photos of what you have will help a lot.
There are several pans for an 8BA, 8RT Flathead.
For the most part 8BA pans are "mid-sump". The 8RT truck engine is rear sump but it's a little deeper than the 48 pan.
The 48 pan should bolt on but the bellhousing/starter shroud would have to come off of it. The early pans have a vent as well.

A '49-'50 .Mercury pan is best, second choice is a '48-'52 Ford truck pan.
Use the oil pump pickup & starter plate to suit.
