A friend of mine in Daytona called me a few minutes ago and told me that this year's 2022 Turkey Rod Run will be the last one. Didn't know if it was being moved to a new location or any other info. Has anyone else heard of this?
My source says next year (2023) will be the 50th anniversary show. They already have the give away car under construction. Stop by and see us in turn 4 with the flywheel engines display.
I'm looking to shoot a couple cars for an Ol' Skool Rods article this year. If you have a car you think would be good for that mag, send me a message. I'd like to line up some specific times to shoot these. I'll be back again doing general photography as well. If you see a photographer in a golf cart...say hi!
It's a great show and get-together. We go every year and we'll be there again this year. Things I really like about Turkey Run: 1. Hambers with kid friendly cars. Nothing better than seeing a kid getting his picture taken in a a real hot rod 2. A lot of friendly get-together with all genres of cars. Not everyone likes everything, but the respect for each other's work is nice to see. 3. Catching up with friends from across the country 4. Junky, overpriced carnival food. What my doctor doesn't know won't hurt him...... Things I don't like about Turkey Run: 1. Young, lazy assholes on mobility scooters who run over pedestrians. 2. Assholes on mobility scooters towing big trailers 3. Assholes who do burnouts in a crowd (most of them get shut down quickly) 4. Assholes who think your cooler is full of free drinks.
