  4. Anyone like to tackle a "Winfield" fade on this 55, the new color is the trunk lid, old color is the brighter yellow, I suggested using the old yellow as the fade into the new darker yellow pretty much like Winfield's car there.

I just picked up a 52 Mercury that was customized in the 80’s. I love everything about it except the front grille treatment. You guys do some amazing work. Can you restyle this front end? Maybe a 54 Pontiac grille? 55 Desoto? I’m open to ideas. Thanks!

Great score! If this were my car, I'd avoid the cliche grilles and go for something clean and different.
I used a 1954 Lincoln Capri or Cosmopolitan grille and bumper combo. I deleted the three lower vertical bars, but you could use them if you like. I also reworked the hood scoop to better complement the new face.

I gave this one a go, as I've been playing with layer modes in Gimp: Swade41 gasser with fade.jpg Too subtle?

  17. Yes it is but I think it would take some modifications to make it work...

    narrowing it down

    gold (3) (2)a (1).jpg

on the above image, the brick structure just above the carbs always bothered me, can we make that disappear to give the carbs more definition?
and speaking of the carbs, can we change the intake to a 6x2 dragstar?
then, most important, add a lake style header that's capped off with a cut out running downward and under the frame to tie into the exhaust seen poking out under the car?
i've decided on the 6 carbs but can't make up my mind on whether to run stock exhaust manifold or the lake header tying in to an under car exhaust.
still some welding and fabbing left to do, fit the turtle deck, sand it down to bare metal, good winter project. if you want to make the changes to the actual car, here's a photo of it.

    thanks guys

    Hey guys,
A few years ago, I did a deal with @Hamtown Al and he ended up with my old Sedan Deliv...and then spent months "de-greening" it...busting my ass the whole time. 0.11.jpg

Anyway, Al is building a new Roadster Pickup and is undecided on the wheel color.
Hot Rods - Is this a Brookville roadster pickup? Update: NO. Now building 1929 roadbriolet/cabrioster pickup | Page 22 | The H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com)

If someone could add my green wheels, caps and rings to his RPU so I could post it on his build thread (giving full credit to the photoshopper of course). I think Al would love it...and hate it at the same time;)

^^^^ Looks to me you already have it just a different color. Pealing clear coat is not attractive to me but might what you are looking for but tough to replicate without time and elements.

Seeing the picture of the '56 F100 picured above got me thinking about the paint job on my avatar. After taking the truck apart in 1996 to drop in the 429, four speed, 3rd cab and fiberglass front clip, I ran out of time and couldn't paint the bed and rear fenders before finishing the re-assemby of the truck and moving from VA to CA. (hence the U-Haul trailer).
I'm not too good at photoshopping paint and would like to request the help of my fellow photoshoppers to finish it up. Any takers?
