does anyone know a cheap way to use old style covers on newer center bolt heads? 100 bucks at summit is a bit much right now.

Check your local hot rod shop. Crate motors come with plain, black steel covers that usually get thrown away or stacked in the corner. Might even get some freebies.:)

If you have aluminum heads, just weld some material to the head, then drill & tap. I have a friend who did it with a set of trick flows...put offset vette covers on it.
Also theres the faux rocket covers that are a bolt on...really mess with people.

I've got a pair of black GM centre bolt covers you can have if you pay the shipping.

If you don't mind modern looking valvecovers that is.

    Let me know.

No, I haven't made SBC valve cover adapters, or used them. My 327 has a $100 pair of Feulie heads. It's shown on http://www.roadsters.com/sbc/

There are so many good heads available with the early, perimeter bolt holes. You could probably trade yours for a pair.

if you have newer heads you can still get chevrolet script valve covers with center bolts instead of staggered bolts at a swapmeet or ebay.i got a set for $20 and was mad at myself for not waiting because i found other sets that were BETTER (not beat up) and already painted for LESS!

BEAUTIFUL..... JUST BEAUTIFUL !!!! I was gonna say it but people say i am to HARSH on here already !! :D

Why, If people want the look of an old engine, Why Do they start with a new 350 chevy ??????

Just go to KRAGEN and buy a set of Tiwain chrome covers and be PROUD of the Chevy you worked SO HARD to put in yer rod.

You took the easy way out, Now display it like a newborn child !!

  15. Not this again...........................Damn I want plexigl*** valve covers with louvers!!

  16. If I can sell 'em on ePay for $50-$60 I could care less what guys do with Olds valve covers, stuff them up their rearends for all I care. I wouldn't run them that way myself, although I have thought about sticking a set on the 350 in my Suburban just to mess with people. Would work great except the oil filler is in the valve cover.

We wouldnt be at it again if every Small Block Chevy lover would just run Chevy valve covers.

If you love Chevys so much, why are guys with Chevys tryin to hide them and tryin to make un~suspecting people think they have sumpthin else ?

"Hey look !!! That guy must be cool, he has PACKARD V8 in that Hot Rod!! "

    " OHH Wait, it's a '99 Chevy 305 with the wrong valve covers ..."

I will run my center bolt valve covers with pride! Unless I find something that looks cool without faking olds rocket covers, that is...

Didn't someone recently post something about putting old school valve covers on over the top of the stock center bolt covers? That was kinda neat.

How about these valve covers on the 350 SBC in this '56 Bel-Air?

Don't ask me where he got it as I haven't asked yet. All I know is he's had it for quite some time.

Those are the old Gennie Shifter valve covers. I have an NOS big block Chevy pair that I bought for a conversation piece. I talk about them a bit on http://www.roadsters.com/bbc/
