I have a quick question for you guys. I’m about to test fit my windshield frame into my 1939 Ford pickup and I’m not sure how the lower bracket that screws to the windshield frame attaches to the pivot on the crank regulator.
Is a 3/16 spring pin used? Seems like it would be a pain to install once I have gl*** in the frame.
It was already dis***embled when I purchased the truck so I’m at a loss..

  2. There are two arms from the regulator, as I remember from my '38 the attachment points are about 3 or 4 inches on either side of center. If I had not sold my '38, I would take pictures for you. The '38 and '39 regulators are different but they attach to the windshield frame the same way as other '37-'39 Ford cars and trucks. They attach with 10-32 screws--Henry loved 10-32 screws.

thank you for the response. How did the regulator arm attach to the bracket that bolts to the frame with the 10-32 screws. In my pic I have a spring pin started. Just not sure if that is the right way.

Yes, a simple pin as an "axle" for the arm. Ask yourself where its going. Nowhere. Just for peace of mind put a small pin ***** on one side to make an interference fit on the W/S bracket so it never vibes out. A little white grease on the arm and call it done.
