I have a pickup to sell and before I post it in cl***ified adds, I was wondering if anyone had experience with it. I have it posted on Facebook but Facebook ****s. My consensus of my local area is that the guys with money don’t want a project and the guys without money want to trade projects. Thanks for allowing me to ask.

It took a while but I sold my coupe here.
Facebook marketplace will issue you a 1099 for anything over $600. eBay is doing that as well

    Have a realistic price...
You get good exposure to likeminded folks.
I have seen some obscene deals in the cl***ified. A good '46 Ford Coupe for 1500 bucks. It stayed up a long time and this was a good car just needing an engine. In other words, it was not the rusted hulk you'll see on FB for 10K.
With this said there's still some dream sellers.
    Avoid the Nigerian Princes.
Avoid the Western Union.... Wal-Mart card... wire over asking price offer....delivery dude... hold my cash, keep the extra, pay the driver stuff.

selling a project is tough, the local guys usually don't want it, and the guys who do want it are far away and it's a real h***le to buy it from a distance.

I sold a couple vehicles on the hamb, it worked out OK, although I ended up having to deliver them.

Sold one (project); traded an OT vehicle for another project. Both times it was not a local transaction, but happy with the end results. Probably get better exposure here, and it's the right market / audience. If someone wants it, they'll make the necessary arrangements. Good luck!

selling/buying a ride is almost always a challenge - best to post on as many sites as is reasonably possible - it is the same story with any deal -seller/buyer have to be in, or on site, at the same place at the same time with an agreed upon price/deal - have sold a car in less than hour - another took close to a year

I bought one from the cl***ifieds here, it was one of my better experiences dealing old cars. Got the car i wanted, and met a wonderful man all at the same time. Good memories. I always look at the sellers profile and see how long they've been a member, and how many posts they have, that'll help determine if they are a fly by night flipper or a car guy.

Had good luck with about 50% of the parts I posted here. Listed one car, a popular model for a good price, no body even asked, put in on Facebook market place... was gone the next day. Still a nice forum to search for stuff.

Had my 36 listed here and CL. Sold it thru the HAMB, out of state buyer bought it thru my pics and a couple over the phone conversations, went smooth, would list thru the HAMB again, if I had anything else to sell. Mitch

Well just read the rules, can’t post it. The cut off is 64 and the truck is 69 so back to the drawing board lol.

I've seen it here a time or two where there are problems after the sale here or even before the sale and the guy needs to have a *****fest on the forum. It doesn't happen often but it does happen, not cool...

I think my worst issues are the ***umptions guys make before even looking. Too many to list. I quit trying to sell things a few years ago because too many guys trying to play tv negotiating tactics and think you have to be a d!#k to get to a deal. This is the first I’ve tried selling in a while.

  15. Thats a good line to use in my next local ad :D. "no TV negotiating tactics" :p I like it.

  16. While I have not sold one in awhile, I have bought some, including one here. The HAMB transaction worked well, and the seller is a stand up guy. Even bought parts from him later. FB ****s, Evil Bay now collects sales tax from the buyer and sends a 1099 to the seller, and CL is full of tire kickers.

That year of truck would fit into ‘67-72? (I think it is) Chevy /GMC site. Been so long since I’ve been there I don’t even recall the proper name, but a search should bring it up.
They had a real good cl***ifieds section, and also had opened up for other like-same year models , ie 55-9 , etc.

Has little to do with "here" in this wave pool market we're seeing. If you had a complete running 32 3W for under 30K of course it would sell. Get the message? This is likely the most topsy turvy times I've seen in car sales. Yes, projects are tough even at fair to low ask. Those costs are as silly high to get things done as everything else is. And can you even get what you need? Are we forever screwed? No, prosperity is around the corner but I personally believe that corner will take til mid summer next year to get to. If you have big $$$$$$$ **** to sell its moving. A record was set on a Duesy over labor day. Gullwings are nearly silly. Sure that's upper strata stuff but our personal wet dream big money stuff is moving too. Down here with us peons? We have to tread softly and be ready to buy or sell with no "...lemme think about it..." Strange days...

I find it a wierd question. The cl***ifieds here are free. What's the issue. You advertise it and if someone wants to buy it you do the deal. Free. It's not like you can complain about the service. If you're looking for a catch, I don't see one. Except what you want to sell is OT here.

The OP just recently joined the HAMB, in effect he’s not asking a question any different that a 10 year member asking “ anyone buy from ****x”. And asking for experiences.

If you look at his follow up post a little above - it's a 69 so it's too new.

Have not posted or sold anything recently but over the years have sold at least 3, and bought things from vendors and ect. never any problems. The fact it is completely free is the icing on the cake. Much respect and thanks to the HAMB for that!

Look me up, I had a 47 caddy for a fair price here and everywhere else you can think of. Almost 2 full years, tire kickers and be-backs. I decided WTF, why not, and put it on IG. Gone in 3 days. Sometimes you hit the right time and place.

  26. I bought a car from the cl***ified ads here, from the bottom of the world, all went well.

What i don't understand why some people will post their car for sale as long as 4 years. Hopefully your car won't take that long to sell.

Didn't sell anything but bought 3 cars here over the last years. All were more or less project cars. Due to my location I bought all 3 sight unseen just by photos and conversation with the sellers and had to arrange the trasnport. So far only good experience with honest descriptions in the HAMB cl***ifieds for me!

I have had good luck sell, I have sold two projects but they were reasonably priced, I understood that people buying a project will have to spend money to get it delivered and will not spend big bucks.

I've also sold a few running cars, two went overseas and two stayed in the states. HRP

Helped a friend sell a couple of cars on here and parts too. Went well and the cars were projects.
