Speedway has or had a T5 kit to go with the flattie V8. You should read the reviews on it before shelling out any $$$.
^ Agreed, that's the one to get: http://cornhuskerrodandcustom.net/t-5-transmission-kit/ As for mounting it in the Shoebox ch***is, I can't offer too much advice. Obviously it'll be a floor shift instead of the OEM column. ~Peter
Ford T 5 or a Chevy T-5 ? Cornhuskers kit and the Speedway knockoff of his kit use the early Ford clutch fork setup that has the shaft that the pedal turns. Speedway does have an adapter setup for a hydraulic clutch but that opens another can of worms as far as easy swap. This plate Bolts a Shoebox steel bellhousing right up to a Ford T-5 49-53/52-53 Ford Flathead to Ford T5 Adapter plate - Modern Driveline Less jacking around and a lot simpler. You may want to swap tail shaft to an S-10 Tail shaft to move the shifter forward As the Ford Shifter will be right back at or in the seat.
Nick, Spoke with Cornhusker today, they only make kits for the earlier blocks not 8BA. Speed Gems has just the ticket though. Need to find a Camaro or Firebird trans. Steve
There are two different ratio sets found in S10 T5s. One has a 3.76:1 first gear, the other a 4.03:1 first gear.
There are reproduction S10 T5 tail housings out there. I have used them with success. S10 shift rails are easy to get. A guy on eBay has a speedometer gear relocation kit, so that will work, too.
