Technical Electrical Gremlin - No Power

  1. That, sir , indicates to me the connection between the cable and fitting is suspect. I bet it would take very little to pull the cable free.

    ....and the increased resistance creates more heat. Kind of a runaway train situation.

    I would look at firewall connector and fuse panel. I have a 64 Pontiac and had same issue. Later GM cars the connector to the fuse panel had a bolt to keep it in place.

    yep, I am thinking this is the big culprit now. I got stranded on the side of the road the other day after it lost power. When I popped the hood, that suspect ground wire was like a wet noodle. It’s like the conduit had melted inside the sleeve. Replaced it and bolted it to the head instead of the manifold.
